Description

We’re searching for a passionate culinary professional who lives and breathes authentic Indian flavors. In this role you’ll run day-to-day kitchen operations, craft traditional dishes from both North and South India, and guide a small team to deliver memorable dining experiences. If layering spices, creating new menu ideas, and keeping a busy kitchen humming sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Prepare classic North and South Indian dishes—from tandoori items to dosa—using time-honored techniques. *Select, measure, and blend spices and herbs to achieve authentic flavor profiles. *Guarantee freshness and top-tier presentation for every plate that leaves the pass. *Lead, train, and motivate junior cooks to uphold cooking standards and hygiene protocols. *Plan next-day prep and coordinate ingredient orders so the kitchen is always service-ready. *Interact with guests or front-of-house teams to tailor dishes to individual preferences. *Develop and test new menu items that keep offerings exciting and seasonal. *Monitor stock levels, rotation, and waste, following strict FIFO and cost-control practices. *Ensure smooth, timely service even during peak periods, maintaining food quality throughout.

Qualifications and Requirements

*Deep expertise in authentic North & South Indian cuisine, including spice science and regional cooking methods. *Minimum 3 years’ experience in a high-volume Indian kitchen (lead or supervisory capacity preferred). *Solid grasp of inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction. *Ability to create visually appealing, great-tasting plates under time pressure. *Comfortable working split shifts, weekends, and public holidays. *Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills to develop junior staff. *Commitment to strict hygiene, HACCP, and safety standards.
