Description

We're looking for a versatile culinary professional to contribute to both our Western and Chinese cuisine offerings. This role involves a blend of creative cooking, precise preparation, and efficient kitchen management, with opportunities to showcase your skills in banquets and buffet setups.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Handle food preparation and cooking for both Western and Chinese menu items as needed. * Support the preparation and plating of food for Chinese banquets and buffet services. * Maintain consistent food quality and presentation, adhering to established standards. * Oversee daily mise-en-place, food preparation, cooking, and presentation. * Coordinate and guide the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service operations. * Contribute to menu planning, including daily and weekly specials and food promotions. * Propose innovative menu ideas, buffet concepts, dessert options, and presentation styles, along with service procedure documentation. * Manage food requisitions and inter-departmental transfers, ensuring accurate tracking. * Verify the quality and quantity of food deliveries from suppliers and storage areas. * Request necessary food items from other kitchen sections or departments. * Assist in cost control by minimizing waste, utilizing surplus ingredients, and adhering to portion sizes. * Ensure all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean, functional, and well-maintained. * Provide guidance and training to kitchen personnel as directed by the lead chef. * Participate in team meetings and other required gatherings. * Maintain a safe and hazard-free kitchen environment. * Propose new menu items, presentation techniques, and document service procedures. * Utilize standardized recipe cards and ensure their consistent use by all staff. * Communicate daily activities, events, and special orders with the lead chef. * Ensure proper cleanup and storage of food and supplies after each shift. * Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the kitchen area. * Submit maintenance and repair requests for kitchen equipment and facilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Demonstrated experience in preparing both Western and Chinese cuisine. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment. * Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. * Excellent organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. * Strong communication skills. * A proactive approach to problem solving.
