Description
We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead kitchen operations for a Japanese restaurant group. The role involves menu execution, staff training, quality control, and ensuring high standards of food safety while driving kitchen efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities and Duties
* Lead the kitchen team to deliver authentic Japanese cuisine to high standards * Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines * Execute and monitor menu delivery, presentation, and quality checks * Manage food cost models, inventory, supplier orders, and stock control * Conduct training and development for kitchen staff to maintain consistency and excellence * Investigate and resolve food quality issues or customer complaints * Oversee kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and equipment maintenance * Provide leadership through appraisals, motivation, and disciplinary guidance where required
Qualifications and Requirements
* Minimum 10 years of culinary experience, preferably in Japanese cuisine * Fluent in Japanese to manage communication within the team and customers * Strong leadership, people management, and training skills * In-depth understanding of food costing, waste control, and profitability * High personal standards of hygiene and safety compliance
