Responsibilities and Duties
*Meal Preparation: Precisely prepare ingredients by slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing. You'll expertly add seasonings, verify taste, and meticulously plate meals. *Cooking Techniques: Master hot meal preparation using grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling techniques. You'll also skillfully assemble and refrigerate cold ingredients. *Food Safety & Hygiene: Strictly follow all proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures. *This includes maintaining temperature and HACCP logs, and ensuring appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items. *Menu Collaboration: Contribute to daily, holiday, and special theme menus in partnership with your supervisor. *Kitchen Maintenance: Keep all equipment, food storage areas, and work areas consistently clean and sanitized. *Cleaning & Dishwashing: Complete all cleaning tasks according to daily and weekly schedules, including dishwashing and pot washing. *Customer Interaction: Listen to customer feedback and suggestions, and resolve complaints effectively within your role's scope, escalating more complex concerns to your supervisor. *Quality Improvement: Participate in or contribute to programs, committees, or projects aimed at enhancing service quality and employee productivity. *Work Area Upkeep: Continuously maintain clean work areas, utensils, and equipment. *Menu Innovation: Develop exciting new menu items while constantly improving existing dishes. *Kitchen Management: Help manage kitchen expenses, control food costs, oversee inventory, and manage staffing within budgetary limits. *Food Service Support: Assist with both the preparation and serving of all meals to customers. *Team Supervision (when applicable): Supervise a small team to ensure kitchen and service areas remain clean and organized. *Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all food and health and safety regulations are strictly followed by the team.
Qualifications and Requirements
*North Indian Cuisine Expertise: Able to skillfully prepare North Indian food. *Shift Work Availability: Comfortable working various shifts as needed. *Strong understanding of proper food handling, hygiene, and safety protocols. *A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. *Excellent teamwork and communication skills. *Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
