Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled culinary professional to support our Chef in a variety of essential kitchen functions. This role encompasses administrative support, the sourcing and management of specialized Japanese ingredients, and the preparation of authentic Japanese dishes. The ideal candidate will also play a part in guiding kitchen personnel, contributing to menu innovation, and upholding the highest standards of food quality and hygiene. A strong culinary background, a passion for Japanese cuisine, and excellent organizational skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Provide support to the Chef in various administrative tasks. * Take responsibility for sourcing and invoicing Japanese culinary ingredients. * Prepare a range of Japanese ingredients and dishes according to established standards. * Provide guidance and instruction to kitchen personnel on proper task execution. * Assist the Chef in the creation and development of new menu items. * Consistently maintain a high level of quality for all Japanese food items prepared for a specific station. * Ensure consistently high standards of food presentation for a specific station. * Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization within assigned work areas, including refrigerators. * Adhere to all food hygiene regulations and the company's quality standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Possess a diploma or equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts. * Have at least four years of practical experience working in a kitchen environment. * Demonstrate an excellent understanding of various culinary ingredients. * Possess strong knowledge of Japanese food handling, preparation techniques, and cooking procedures relevant to a specific station. * Exhibit a refined sense of taste and an appreciation for high-quality food. * Ability to consistently produce high-quality Japanese food items and maintain presentation standards for a specific station. * Ability to maintain excellent hygiene and orderliness in the designated work area. * Possess a strong understanding of food hygiene regulations and company quality standards. * Ability to communicate in Japanese is considered a plus.
