Description
We are seeking a proactive and supportive individual to guide and train our service team within a designated area. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the smooth daily operations of the dining floor, ensuring a high standard of quality, service, cleanliness, and atmosphere. You will also play a key part in coordinating team efforts, managing resources, and maximizing both customer satisfaction and business success.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Provide guidance and on-the-job training to service staff within your assigned area. * Oversee the daily operations of the dining floor, actively managing floor control to maintain and enhance quality, service, cleanliness, and ambiance. * Coordinate and manage activities involving staff, products, and equipment to drive sales and profitability. * Lead a team of service staff by assigning tasks and responsibilities to individual team members. * Ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for each service day and brief the team on the day's staffing and any specific instructions. * Manage the flow of customers and their seating arrangements effectively. * Supervise the service provided by the team, ensuring it meets our standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and value, and address any service shortcomings as needed. * Manage cash floats, audit till rolls, and provide basic technical support for cash register issues. * Ensure all cash discrepancies (shortages and surpluses) are accurately documented and that payment collections are reconciled. * Serve as the initial point of contact for service staff regarding operational issues. * Resolve day-to-day operational challenges as they arise and provide necessary support to ensure the service team can perform their duties effectively. * Lead the investigation and resolution of complex customer complaints and feedback in a timely and efficient manner. * Uphold and enforce the restaurant's standards for quality, service, cleanliness, and value. * Monitor operations to ensure adherence to all safety procedures and guidelines within the restaurant. * Implement corrective actions to address any unsafe or non-compliant conditions and behaviors related to personal and food safety. * Conduct onboarding for new team members, providing them with the essential skills and information for their roles. * Provide ongoing training to encourage versatility and skill development among service staff. * Train and monitor staff adherence to the company's standard operating procedures (SOPs). * Ensure that all workplace safety practices are followed.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience in a food and beverage service role with demonstrated leadership potential. * Strong understanding of restaurant operations and customer service principles. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively train and guide others. * Ability to manage and resolve operational issues and customer concerns in a calm and efficient manner. * A proactive approach to maintaining high standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. * Basic cash handling and reconciliation skills. * Knowledge of and commitment to enforcing safety and hygiene procedures. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. * A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
