Description
We are seeking a seasoned and imaginative Head Chef to lead our culinary team in a dynamic, high-energy dining environment. The ideal candidate will bring creativity to menu development, provide hands-on leadership in the kitchen, and ensure exceptional food quality. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including staff training, inventory control, supplier coordination, and cost management. This role also involves collaborating on administrative functions like tracking kitchen expenses and achieving cost-efficiency targets. Responsibilities and Duties
*Lead, mentor, and supervise all kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations. *Keep food expenses within the budget and maintain cost efficiency in the kitchen. *Enforce proper food hygiene and sanitation standards at all times. *Conduct routine inspections on kitchen tools and equipment, ensuring safe usage and minimizing accidents. *Maintain strict control of food waste and report any wastage following the correct procedures. *Implement proper stock rotation methods to ensure ingredients are used before expiry dates. *Guarantee that dishes are plated and presented as per the standard recipes and guidelines. *Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including workstations, storage, and refrigeration units before the shift ends. *Uphold personal hygiene standards, including proper use of safety gear and kitchen attire. *Organize and conduct regular kitchen staff meetings and briefings. *Take part in monthly stock checks, including kitchenware like plates, tools, and utensils. *Carry out other related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the kitchen.
Qualifications and Requirements
*Demonstrated experience in managing a commercial kitchen and leading culinary teams. *Excellent understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene. *Strong organizational and communication skills to manage operations and lead briefings. *Ability to control food costs and reduce waste through proper planning and monitoring. *Keen attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness. *Flexible and willing to take on various kitchen-related tasks as needed.
