Responsibilities and Duties
*Leadership & Support: Step in to cover for the Restaurant Manager during their absence, ensuring continuous smooth operations. *Scheduling & Planning: Assist the Manager in creating efficient staff schedules, balancing anticipated business needs, budget constraints, and service standards. *Financial Contribution: Support the Manager in achieving monthly financial targets by forecasting requirements, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions. *Compliance & Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of local laws, customs, and company policies, ensuring full adherence. *Collaborative Meetings: Attend Food & Beverage and other relevant meetings as required to stay informed and contribute insights. *Staff Development: Conduct training sessions for all outlet staff and help the Restaurant Manager identify and implement necessary training initiatives. *Team Communication: Lead pre-meal and monthly communication meetings, fostering open dialogue and a free exchange of ideas within the department. *Opening & Closing Procedures: Take responsibility for opening and closing areas, ensuring all tasks are completed and premises are securely locked. *Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor staff performance, appearance, and hygiene to uphold high standards. *Inter-Departmental Liaison: Collaborate closely with the Restaurant Chef on daily food delivery and presentation, and liaise with other departments to ensure seamless communication and effective problem resolution. *Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends by reviewing trade literature, networking with colleagues, and observing competitors. *Cleanliness & Organization: Regularly inspect areas for cleanliness, proper equipment storage, and adequate supplies. *Menu & Display Management: Ensure all menus (food, dessert, wine, beverages) are in pristine condition. Oversee the arrangement of flowers, trolleys, and displays. *Guest Engagement: Explain daily specials and menu items in collaboration with the Chef, and warmly welcome and seat guests. *Quality & Policy Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to established quality standards, as well as company policies and procedures by all staff. *Safety & Hygiene Champion: Guarantee that all staff members comply with safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies. *Maintenance Coordination: Maintain consistent communication with the Engineering department to ensure timely completion of repairs. *Service Observation & Support: Constantly observe service operations and actively step in to assist when necessary to ensure optimal flow. *Guest Problem Resolution: Anticipate guest needs, efficiently answer questions, resolve problems, and determine when a more senior manager's involvement is required. Record complaints and actions taken. *Adaptable Support: Perform any other reasonable task requested by management or required for the smooth operation of the restaurant.
Qualifications and Requirements
*A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry. *Preferably 1-2 years of proven management experience in a similar setting. *Ideally, previous experience working in an Italian restaurant environment. *Possess genuine drive and passion to excel within the Food & Beverage industry. *Demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving, motivational, and people skills. *Ability to commit to working during the restaurant's peak periods, including weekends, public holidays, and the eve of public holidays.
