Description

Responsibilities and Duties
* Menu & Quality Control: Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and recipe development for events, ensuring all food meets halal certification standards and maintaining high standards of presentation and flavor. * Event Coordination: Work closely with event teams to understand requirements and oversee the kitchen team during events, ensuring smooth operations and timely food delivery, especially during peak times. * Team Leadership: Assist in managing, mentoring, and training kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to halal food preparation standards and hygiene protocols. Provide leadership and delegate tasks in the absence of the Executive Chef. * Hygiene & Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and halal certification regulations. Conduct regular checks of equipment and workspaces to maintain a safe and clean environment. * Inventory & Cost Management: Assist in managing kitchen inventory, monitoring food costs, and collaborating with suppliers to source high-quality halal-certified ingredients.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is preferred. * Minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in a kitchen role, with a strong background in banquet and large-scale event catering. * Proven experience leading a kitchen team and managing food production for large-scale events. * Strong knowledge of halal food preparation standards and certification requirements. * Excellent cooking and food presentation skills, with strong attention to detail. * Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations. * Experience in preparing a diverse range of cuisines, specifically Chinese and Western, is required.
