Head Chef (Pre-Opening)

Description

We are looking for a Head Chef (Pre-Opening) to lead the launch of a new Italian dining concept. You will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu development to food preparation and quality control, while ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with food safety standards. Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee daily kitchen operations including purchasing, inventory, preparation, training, and scheduling * Develop and execute authentic Italian-inspired menus aligned with brand vision * Conduct tastings, refine recipes, and drive continuous product improvement * Manage budgets, P&L reporting, and cost controls for food, labour, and overhead * Maintain high standards of sanitation, food safety, and compliance with local regulations * Foster teamwork, creativity, and professional growth among culinary staff * Provide strategic business insights to improve restaurant financial performance * Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth pre-opening and ongoing operations

Qualifications and Requirements

* Minimum 5 years of culinary management experience in mid/large-scale operations * Expertise in Italian cuisine preferred * Strong knowledge of cost control, budgeting, and inventory management * Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills * Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 1) * Passion for delivering authentic dining experiences and guest satisfaction
