Description

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef (or Senior Chef) to support the kitchen in delivering exceptional food for events ranging from intimate corporate functions to large-scale banquets. You’ll play a key role in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen team supervision—ensuring that every dish meets both quality and certification standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Ensure all dishes are prepared in compliance with food certification and hygiene requirements *Collaborate on event menus and support the development of new recipes and culinary ideas *Oversee food preparation and presentation to maintain consistency and visual appeal *Adjust production timelines and strategies based on specific event needs and guest count *Provide hands-on leadership during events, ensuring smooth service and food quality under pressure *Guide, train, and mentor junior team members on best kitchen practices and safety protocols *Step into a leadership role when the Executive Chef is unavailable, including task delegation and staff supervision *Keep kitchen operations efficient and ensure all work meets company standards *Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and storage procedures in line with health regulations *Conduct routine checks on cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and ingredient freshness *Work closely with the purchasing team to manage stock levels and source top-quality, certified ingredients *Help monitor food costs and support budget planning to ensure quality without overspending

Qualifications and Requirements

*Minimum 2–3 years of culinary experience, preferably in event catering or banquet settings *Strong understanding of food certification and safety standards *Skilled in managing kitchen operations for both small and large events *Excellent skills in food presentation, cooking techniques, and multitasking *Capable of leading a kitchen team with confidence and professionalism *Strong organizational and communication skills, with an eye for detail *Experience sourcing and working with certified ingredients (e.g., Halal) is a plus
