Sous Chef

Description

A dedicated and efficient culinary assistant is needed to support the smooth operation of a cafe kitchen. This role focuses on assisting the Chef with daily tasks, preparing dishes to high standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in food safety regulations and possess a proactive attitude towards teamwork.

Responsibilities and Duties

* Support the Chef in ensuring efficient daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and the implementation of new menu items. * Prepare and cook dishes according to the cafe's quality standards, recipes, cooking techniques, and presentation guidelines. * Ensure proper food storage, handling, and hygiene practices are followed in compliance with regulatory standards. * Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition. * Uphold high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety throughout all kitchen areas at all times. * Maintain appropriate stock levels of ingredients, utensils, supplies, and equipment, adhering to company guidelines for smooth daily operations. * Foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues and continuously improve through guest feedback. * Support safe work practices and contribute to a safe working environment. * Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Must be a Singaporean citizen or Permanent Resident. * Minimum of two years of relevant culinary experience. * Minimum secondary school education with a valid WSQ food safety and hygiene certificate. * Willingness to work weekends and public holidays. * Ability to work independently and proactively support team members in a fast-paced environment.
