Description
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile culinary enthusiast to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of food preparation, from meticulously prepping ingredients to expertly cooking and plating dishes. You will also play a vital role in maintaining our high standards of hygiene and safety, contributing to menu development, and ensuring our customers have a delightful dining experience. Responsibilities and Duties
* Prepare a variety of ingredients by following recipes, employing techniques such as slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals attractively. * Expertly prepare hot meals by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients, as well as assembling and refrigerating cold items. * Strictly adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety guidelines; maintain accurate temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and ensure proper dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items. * Collaborate with the supervisor to contribute creative ideas for daily, holiday, and themed menus. * Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all equipment, food storage areas, and work stations. * Complete cleaning tasks according to daily and weekly schedules, including dishwashing and pot washing duties. * Actively listen to customer feedback and suggestions, addressing complaints effectively within your role's scope and escalating more complex issues to the supervisor. * Participate in and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and employee efficiency. * Keep all work areas, utensils, and equipment clean and organized. * Develop innovative new menu items while refining existing recipes. * Manage kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing levels within budget constraints. * Demonstrate proficiency in preparing North Indian cuisine. * Be available and willing to work flexible shifts. * Assist in the overall preparation and serving of all meals to our valued customers. * Supervise a team, ensuring that both the kitchen and service areas are consistently clean and well-maintained. * Ensure strict compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Proven experience in food preparation, demonstrating a strong understanding of various cooking techniques. * Knowledge of and commitment to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, including HACCP guidelines. * Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently while also demonstrating creativity in menu development. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and efficient work environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to address customer feedback professionally. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work atmosphere. * Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment. * Proficiency in preparing North Indian dishes is essential. * Flexibility to work various shifts as required. * Experience in supervising a team and ensuring adherence to cleanliness and safety standards is desirable. * A proactive and hardworking attitude with a passion for culinary excellence.
