Description
Lead the Information Technology team to ensure the effective management, security, and legal compliance of all IT systems and support within the hotel. This includes overseeing the implementation and maintenance of hardware, software, networks, and cybersecurity measures. Ensure that IT operations are aligned with company policies and industry best practices, while continuously optimizing systems to meet the evolving needs of the hotel. Manage IT staff, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with other departments to provide seamless technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Duties
Strategic Planning & Implementation: Manage and optimize IT systems to align with hotel objectives and industry standards. Stakeholder Liaison & Systems Enhancement: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess IT needs, recommend improvements, and report on progress. Security & Compliance: Regularly test, update, and ensure compliance with legal and internal security protocols, including disaster recovery plans. Project Management: Lead IT projects, creating schedules and timelines to meet department needs. Technology Updates: Stay current with IT trends, attending meetings and identifying new opportunities. Policy & Procedure Management: Ensure IT policies are up to date, particularly for health and safety regulations. Communication: Relay IT updates and issues to end-users through meetings and appropriate channels. User Documentation: Maintain user manuals for all systems and technologies. Supplier & Contract Management: Work with Purchasing to manage supplier contracts and service quality. Team Training & Development: Provide ongoing training and manage team performance through regular appraisals. Database Administration: Oversee multi-user databases, ensuring data consistency. Budget Management: Handle the IT department’s budget in collaboration with the Financial Controller. Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews to encourage team development. Strategy Development: Lead IT strategy planning and implementation in consultation with key department heads. Standards Compliance: Ensure IT operations align with quality standards and specifications. Systems Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of all hotel systems for optimal use.
Qualifications and Requirements
Proven experience in IT management, preferably in the hospitality or similar sector. Strong knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and network management. Experience in managing IT security protocols, data protection, and disaster recovery planning. Familiarity with compliance standards and legal regulations related to IT operations. Excellent project management skills with the ability to create and manage timelines and resources. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and end-users. Ability to train, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals. Proficiency in database management and systems administration. Experience with budget management and cost control for IT operations. Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical issues. Ability to stay updated with the latest technology trends and apply them strategically. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. A degree or certification in Information Technology or related field is preferred.
