Sous Chef

Description

We’re seeking a dedicated culinary professional to support the Head Chef (Outlet) in managing daily kitchen operations and leading the kitchen team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring consistent food quality, efficient workflows, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards. This role offers a chance to contribute creatively to menu development while maintaining operational excellence.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Assist the Head Chef (Outlet) in overseeing all kitchen activities and daily operations *Lead and manage kitchen staff to ensure smooth collaboration and productivity *Monitor the quality of raw materials and maintain strict quality control standards *Handle ordering of supplies via the online system according to company policies *Manage stock intake and inventory checks to ensure timely and accurate deliveries *Conduct daily briefings to update kitchen and front-of-house teams on ingredient availability *Create and optimize kitchen schedules for maximum efficiency without compromising quality *Train and coordinate with cooks and kitchen staff to uphold cooking standards *Maintain consistent high food quality and presentation for all dishes served *Minimize food waste, monitor kitchen activities, and report wastage weekly *Collaborate with the Executive Chef (Outlets) to develop new menus and recipes *Assist in calculating food cost (COGS) and reporting, following company guidelines *Ensure kitchen cleanliness and safety comply with Singapore Food Agency regulations

Qualifications and Requirements

*Diploma or vocational certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field *3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar kitchen or culinary role *Basic food hygiene certification is required *Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, kitchen equipment, and procedures *Excellent team player with good communication and interpersonal skills *Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a strong service mindset *High standards of personal hygiene and professionalism
