Chef de Partie

Description

We’re seeking a seasoned Chef de Partie or experienced Cook with strong expertise in Western cuisine to join our kitchen team. In this role, you'll oversee the daily preparation of meals while ensuring the highest quality, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met. You'll also guide junior team members and help maintain smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.

Responsibilities and Duties

*Handle daily food preparation tasks while meeting the kitchen’s quality and presentation standards. *Enforce hygiene and food safety practices across all food handling and preparation processes. *Coordinate daily production activities with fellow chefs and kitchen staff. *Support and oversee junior kitchen team members, including line cooks and commis chefs. *Estimate daily prep volumes and check the quality of ingredients and finished dishes. *Uphold premium standards in the cooking, plating, and flavor of all menu items. *Monitor food costs and kitchen efficiency while aiming for top-tier guest satisfaction. *Be well-versed in safe food storage, inventory control, and sanitation procedures. *Know all recipes and preparation techniques related to menu offerings. *Store food correctly and monitor product shelf life and expiry dates.

Qualifications and Requirements

*Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working in Western-style kitchens. *Leadership experience as a senior cook or CDP is an advantage. *Possession of a valid food hygiene certificate is required. *Flexibility to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays. *Diploma in Culinary Arts from a recognized institution is preferred.
