Description
As a Sous Chef you will play a pivotal role in leading the kitchen team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality pastries and baked goods. You will work closely with the Head Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, maintain the highest standards of food quality, and inspire creativity within the team. Your leadership, culinary expertise, and attention to detail will be essential in upholding Leckerbaer’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing all kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality in every product. • Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries and desserts, adhering to Leckerbaer’s recipes and standards. • Manage kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and scheduling, to ensure efficient operation. • Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, seasonal offerings, and new product innovations. • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and food hygiene, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. • Monitor stock levels, order ingredients, and manage inventory to minimize waste and control costs. • Lead by example in maintaining a positive, collaborative, and professional kitchen environment. • Assist in other duties as required, ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a high-quality pastry kitchen. • Strong background in pastry and dessert preparation, with a focus on precision and creativity. • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training in pastry arts. • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. • Solid understanding of food safety standards, kitchen management, and cost control. • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Passion for pastry arts and a commitment to excellence. • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
