Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to take on the role of supervising our food processing team, which includes individuals from Kitchen Assistants to Senior Chefs de Partie. The primary focus of this role is to guarantee that all food preparation meets our established high standards. This position also involves developing the bakery skills within the team, working in conjunction with the Production Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of our production unit, effectively assigning tasks and ensuring optimal output while minimizing resource waste. This role demands a commitment to maintaining consistent quality, managing operational costs, and upholding stringent food safety and hygiene regulations. Furthermore, the supervisor will play a key part in ensuring timely production and efficient labor utilization.
Responsibilities and Duties
* Oversee food processing personnel, spanning from Kitchen Assistants to Senior Chefs de Partie, to confirm adherence to quality preparation standards. * Collaborate with the Production Manager to enhance the bakery proficiencies of the production team. * Direct the daily operations of the production unit in an efficient and effective manner. * Allocate and delegate tasks to the appropriate processing staff members. * Maintain consistent product quality and maximize efficient production output while minimizing the squandering of production resources. * Control operational expenses related to production materials and ingredients. * Initiate strategies for production cost reduction and improvements in labor efficiency to boost business competitiveness. * Ensure full compliance with all legal requirements concerning food safety and hygiene. * Guarantee that production timelines are met and that labor is utilized in the most effective way. * Undertake any other tasks as directed by management as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Proven experience in supervising food processing or kitchen staff. * A solid understanding of food preparation techniques and quality standards. * Experience in training or mentoring team members in food production skills, ideally including bakery processes. * Demonstrated ability to manage daily production operations efficiently. * Strong organizational and delegation skills. * A commitment to maintaining consistent quality and minimizing waste in a production environment. * Awareness of cost control measures related to food production. * A thorough understanding of and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. * Ability to ensure timely production and optimize labor utilization. * Flexibility to handle additional responsibilities as required.
